While teaching in Nepal, the soon to be founder of Aid through trade, Damian Jones, was inspired by the artisans of Kathmandu Valley and Nepali glass beads. As he traveled to many communities within Nepal he realized the empowerment of women through income from beading. and wanted to share this with the world. He then created Aid Through Trade, a fairtrade company sharing handcrafted beadwork from Nepal.
