Villages Calgary is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fair trade. We offer a wide range of handmade, fair-trade products that support artisans and producers from marginalized communities around the world. Our mission is to create a meaningful connection between our customers and the producers, ensuring fair wages and sustainable livelihoods.
2. What products do you offer?
We offer a diverse selection of fair trade goods, including handcrafted jewelry, home decor, clothing, coffee, chocolate, and more. Each product is carefully selected to reflect the craftsmanship and cultural heritage of its maker. Many of our products are created by women who have overcome significant challenges.
3. Where can I shop for your products?
You can shop with us both in-store and online. Visit us at our physical location in West Hillhurst, Calgary, or browse our online store to explore our collection and make purchases from the comfort of your home.

5. What is the history of Villages Calgary?
Villages Calgary began as “Self Help Crafts of the World” in 1984, founded by Erna Klippenstein to support global communities. It was renamed Ten Thousand Villages in 1996 and operated successfully until Ten Thousand Villages Canada closed in 2020. We rebranded as Villages Calgary and continue our mission of promoting fair trade with products from over 40 developing countries.

There are several ways to get involved with us! You can shop our products online or at our store, join our volunteer team, participate in our events, or spread the word about fair trade. We also welcome community support to help us continue our mission of ethical consumption and support for artisans.
