Events

The annual fair trade Rug Event in Calgary, hosted at Villages Calgary, showcases hand-knotted rugs produced and sold through a long-standing trade relationship between Pakistani artisans and Canadians. This initiative (called Bunyaad) supports marginalized families in northern Pakistan earning a sustainable income while staying in their home villages. By setting up looms in home workshops, artisans can balance their work with family and farm life. Weavers receive all the benefits of this program, including fair compensation.
