Wire and metal crafting is made by artisans at Johra & Bohra Handicrafts in Behat in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India. These products are all wrapped by hand and our artisans are always learning and designing new shapes for use.
Meera Viswanathan grew up in India and later became a CPA in the USA. When she would visit home she would go shopping in rural India and got to know many artisan’s who had no control over their products or wages as they were living in poverty. By combining her financial training with her upbringing, she started Mira Fair Trade to empower underprivileged artisans in New Delhi to attain long-term sustainability and economic independence.
