Eco jewellery is on the rise. Featuring sustainably harvested tagua nut, also known as “vegetable ivory,” tagua is produced by a palm-like tree in South America. The nuts fall to the ground when mature, so harvesting doesn’t damage the trees. The cord is braided for an easy, adjustable closure - no clasps!
This beaded necklace was handcrafted by makers of Maquita. Maquita works with more than one hundred craft workshops in Ecuador providing marketing, production and design assistance to over 600 artisans.
